I light film sets in and around London.
I’m a freelance gaffer with a strong background in indie films and commercials, experienced in leading teams on medium-sized productions.
I am driven and ambitious in my work. I bring significant expertise in wireless control technology, which I employ to speed up my workflow on set, achieving more efficient setups. My hands-on approach and collaboration with cinematographers, including Doug Milsome BSC, ASC and David Procter BSC, enable me to adapt to various production scales, from independent films to larger projects, while focusing on creative lighting solutions.
I don’t own equipment, so I’ve built strong connections with kit companies over the years. I am a member of MatteBlack London, a collective of lighting technicians with access to shared kit bundles. This allows me to take out lighting packages at any budget, so I’ll hand-pick the best lights for the job.
Additionally, I’ve served as Best Boy on two feature films, further honing my team management skills within the electrical department, and my collaboration with the wider production team.
When hiring a team of sparks, I always look for people that complement and contrast my own experience, and I make an active effort to hire a diverse crew. This is important to me as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I hope to make lighting department a more open and accepting environment.
